The Studio
My studio has been my saving grace...
I was captivated by the little building that became my studio long before I knew it was to be mine. I discovered it years ago, derelict and abandoned, just the skeleton of a building really, but it captured my heart. I would drive by regularly just to see it and sometimes I would even park my car on the street in front and just breathe it in. I felt deeply connected to this place and I knew that something spectacular could and should happen here. Fast forward a few years and we had the opportunity to purchase the property that included this neglected little gem. It came into my life at a time when I needed healing. We had lost our previous building to a fire and with it my art studio and 3 years of my artwork and creations. It was a devastating life event and a clarifying experience with the Lord. When we purchased our new property, and I began to dream again of having a studio I realized the reason for my heart’s connection with the little building. Together with the Lord, I designed my studio to be a creative sanctuary. I imagined sharing all I had with others in creative collaboration and hosting gatherings and classes, but the Lord let me know that the time was not right. This was a safe place just for me, for my recovery and healing and to begin to grow again. He reminded me to be patient and assured me I would know when the time was right to open it to others.
Well, that time is now!! I am honored to share my blessing of creative sanctuary with you.
